I. Introduction to lithium battery
Lithium battery is a kind of battery with lithium metal or lithium alloy as anode material and non-aqueous electrolyte solution. Due to the chemical characteristics of lithium metal is very active, the processing, preservation, and use of lithium metal have very high environmental requirements. As a result, lithium batteries have not been used for a long time.
2. Working principle of lithium ion battery:
Lithium ion batteries generally use lithium alloy metal oxide as the positive material, graphite as the negative material, and use non-aqueous electrolyte batteries.
The anode
Cathode material: there are many cathode materials available, and lithium iron phosphate is used in mainstream products. Control of different cathode materials:
Positive electrode reaction: lithium ions embedded when discharging, lithium ions unembedded when charging.
The cathode
Anode material: graphite is mostly used. New research finds that titanates may be a better material.
Negative electrode reaction: lithium ion disembedded when discharging, lithium ion embedded when charging.
