Lithium Battery Structure and Principle
1. Basic structure of lithium battery
Main materials: positive electrode, negative electrode, electrolyte, diaphragm
Structure: round, square; Laminating and winding
Morphology: Polymer (flexible packaging), liquid lithium ion (steel shell)
2. Working principle of lithium battery
Cathode material: LiMn2O4, cathode material: graphite
When charging, Li+ in the positive electrode and Li+ in the electrolyte converge to the negative electrode and obtain electrons, which are reduced to Li embedded in the carbon material of the negative electrode. During the discharge, Li, embedded in the cathode carbon material, loses electrons and enters the electrolyte, and Li+ in the electrolyte moves towards the positive electrode.
3. Composition principle of lithium battery
(1) Positive pole structure
LiMn2O4(lithium manganese acid)+ conductive agent (acetylene black)+ binder (PVDF)+ fluid collector (aluminum foil) positive electrode
(2) Negative structure
Graphite + conductive agent (acetylene black)+ binder (PVDF)+ collector (copper foil) negative electrode
4. Charging process
LiMn2O4 == li1-xmn2o4 +Xli++Xe(electrons)
6C+XLi+Xe==LixC6 at the negative electrode
5. Discharge process
The reaction that occurs at the positive electrode is li1-xmn2o4 +xli++xe(electrons) ==LiMn2O4
LixC6 == 6C+xLi+xe at the negative electrode
